Directed by Marco Turco. Produced by RAI Fiction & Ciao Ragazzi. Broadcasted on RAI TV 1
I composed half of the soundtrack. The audio clips contain some of my tracks.
The movie tells the story of a great Italian songwriter that was tragically killed in 1981 by a car accident when he was only 31 years old. The main actor, Claudio Santamaria, had to sing again plenty of his songs, but the original instrumental versions where gone. One of the most challenging tasks for me was to recreate all of these instrumentals.
Firstly broadcasted in 2007, it was aired again in 2021 for the forty years of his death.
"Filippo De Laura creates worlds of sounds that are unique and classy at the same time. Mixing rare ethnic instruments with new technologies and more familiar tones (like cello, electric bass, pedal steel guitar, etc), he crafts fascinating arrangements that float over time and space yet feel extremely modern and are definitely elegant. As a videographer, I do love to work on his projects: Phil’s sounds are very inspiring also in the process of fitting images to accompany the songs."
