About This Project:
2024

" THE VELA is a project by the multi-instrumentalists Filippo De Laura and Andrea Filippucci. Producers, composers, and arrangers specialized in soundtracks and songwriting, Filippo and Andrea merged their skills to create an enchanting four-handed instrumental album titled "Dreaming to Travel”.

Recorded between New York and Rome, all the tracks in this album are played with acoustic instruments from Filippo’s and Andrea’s collection of rare chordophones such as the Root Tar, banjola, charango, Portuguese guitar, pedal steel guitar, Chapman stick, cavaquinho, and many others.

In Italian, “Vela” means ‘sail,’ but it is also the name of a constellation with a sail shape. With the title track of their first album "Dreaming To Travel”, the duo takes the listeners into a journey towards the infinite space." (Francesca Cassio)

Mixed & mastered by Eugenio Vatta.

"Filippo's work as a producer is set apart by the infinite shades of sound that he obtains from his unique collection of musical instruments, all of which he plays masterfully while ranging through diverse styles and genres.  His enthusiasm for his work and his patience while listening to the artistic needs of those he collaborates with, make Filippo the right person for any top-quality production."
